This month I focused mainly on my printmaking class taught by Stephanie Jacobsen.I had been attending this class for more than a year before the residency. When covid arrived the class met unofficially every Tuesday morning to discuss printmaking and art in general. I truly appreciated this gesture by Stephanie as Covid was a lonely time. We also scheduled a few outdoor drawing sessions.

I feel that the technical quality to my solar etchings was weak in the beginning. I used my own computer to create the digital photos that were to be converted into etching and printed the photos onto somewhat dirty trancparencies. I was also not choosing images with strong darks which work better with the solar plate etching process. I have learned much from Stephanie and plan to use the works created in this class for my resident show coming up in the spring..
